Christine A. McCool M.H.Sc., Reg. CASLPO Co-owner & Registered Speech Language Pathologist
Christine McCool has more than 19 years’ clinical experience
in adult nervous-system-related communication disorders, with
an emphasis on cognitive-communication rehabilitation for
individuals with acquired brain injury. She operated C. A.
McCool Rehabilitation Services, which provided occupational
therapy, speech-language pathology and behaviour therapy services
to adults and children from 1996-2006 and co-founded the TRAC
Group in 2001.
Christine was a member of the steering committee for the
Rehabilitation Network of Champlain Traumatic Brain Injury
Integration Pilot Project and participated in the standardization
of a new tool to evaluate functional verbal reasoning and
executive strategies after brain injury. She is the author
of Communication Quarterly, an educational publication about
cognitive-communication issues following traumatic brain injury,
and is a frequent speaker at educational conferences and seminars.
A Registered Speech-Language Pathologist, Christine has a
Master of Health Sciences degree from the University of Toronto
and is a member in good standing of the College of Audiologists
and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario and of the Canadian
Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists.

Ruth Leppard R.N.,C.R.R.N., C.C.L.C.P. Co-owner, Certified Life Care Planner &
Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse
Ruth Leppard has more than 19 years’ experience in
the combined disciplines of nursing and rehabilitation. She
operated R. Leppard and Associates Rehabilitation Consulting,
which provided rehabilitation and vocational consulting, from
1999 to 2007 and co-founded the TRAC Group in 2001.
Committed to helping clients develop the skills and techniques
they need to reintegrate into the community and employment,
Ruth develops and implements comprehensive, goal-oriented,
proactive and effective rehabilitation plans. Over the past
15 years, Ruth has acquired a specialty in rehabilitation
nursing, as well as expertise in working with adults and children
who have suffered multi-faceted, catastrophic injuries and
impairments from vehicle and work-related injuries. Ruth’s
objective and cost-effective approach, as well as her thorough
understanding of vehicle insurance legislation and long-term
disability requirements, help bring about successful closure
for her clients, funding sources and other stakeholders.
A Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse, Ruth has served
as a Vice-Chair of the Ottawa Chapter of the Certified Association
of Rehabilitation Professionals (CARP), volunteer patient
advocate at the Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre, and
member of the board advisory committee for the Robin Easey
Centre. Ruth is a frequent speaker at educational conferences
and seminars.
