Mild TBI – Much Ado About Something!
The epidemiology, physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioral symptoms of mild traumatic brain injury are reviewed in addition to common assessment and diagnostic issues. Frequent complications during recovery are discussed along with transdisciplinary treatment models. Case studies and functional outcome data complement the theoretical concepts presented.

Serious Injuries & Work – What Works?
This informative presentation outlines the key factors of employability and distinguishes the often confused concepts of impairment, disability & handicap. The unique vocational needs of challenging populations are highlighted while identifying the key components to structuring a successful and enduring return to work program for suitable candidates. The vital role of communication and documentation in the return to work process are reviewed as well as strategies for overcoming common barriers to long-term vocational reintegration.

What’s New About Therapy?
Evidence-based intervention, collaborative practice, the emergence of non-traditional therapies such as neurologic music therapy and the role of functional outcome data are among the topics discussed in this eclectic review of how time honored treatment practices are expanding to incorporate innovative, research driven techniques.

Case Management – Who Benefits?
Beginning with the end in mind, this seminar outlines the role and objectives of case management during recovery from injury and discusses the benefits of a disability management approach that utilizes outcome data and functional goal setting to optimize recovery. The contribution of various professions and strategies for facilitating self management by the injured individual are presented.
